Self Growth
A painting series that deals with complex themes of sexual abuse, stigma surrounding sexuality and the female form, as well as themes of beauty, nurturing, self healing and growth.
This self portrait series, which includes parts of the female form surrounded by, or becoming part of a flower expresses my own healing journey after leaving a sexually abusive relationship.
Painting myself in this way allowed me to reclaim my body, space and power.
